Qualifications: Counselling courses are provided to support learners gain the skills and self-awareness to become an ethical and effective counsellor. Higher level training is provided to individuals that want to develop their counselling practice. Our training rooms are located on both ground and first floor and are bright spaces that offers a comfortable environment to inspire learning and development.

CPCAB ELSK-L2 - This qualification is designed for candidates who wish to develop their listening skills for use in a variety of personal and professional contexts to:

• improve communication
• improve work relationships
• enhance personal relationships
• promote better community relations.

This qualification does not lead directly to an employed role. However, it could enhance an existing role or increase the general employability of those seeking to enter the job market.

CPCAB CSK-L2 - This qualification is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.

This qualification is for:

• Those starting the first level of training as a professional counsellor
• Those who want to learn counselling skills in other professional or helping roles
• Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development

This qualification could lead to employment or increase employability for those whose role is to support others in e.g. health and social care work, teaching and learning, advocacy and mediation, support and project work, other helping roles.

It provides additional skills for those already in employment likely to lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement.

CPCAB CST-L3 - This qualification is intended for candidates who have already acquired a recognised qualification in counselling skills and want to:

• take the next step in training to become a counsellor
• learn more about counselling theory, ethics and mental health
• be prepared for work as a professional counsellor in an agency setting

This qualification does not lead to employment. It is designed as a pre-practitioner training for professional counselling qualifications but it could also lead to employment in a related field.

CPCAB TC-L4 - This two year part-time qualification gives learners the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as a therapeutic counsellor in an agency context in both health care and non-medical settings.

Successful completion of this course means you will be able to provide a therapeutic counselling service – initially within the context of an agency’s service framework but later (with experience and support from the supervisor, or by completing PC-L5 or its equivalent) may progress to independent practice.

CPCAB PC-L5 - This qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as self-employed counsellors in independent practice. It also equips learners to take on a senior counselling role in an organisational context where client assessment, referral and routine evaluation are part of the role.
